Some of our current and previous paid coaches
Tom Farr Jones
Newington College graduate, Tom is our 2025 U10s coach. He plays for Randwick Rugby Club in the Colts (u20s) as a winger and fullback. Tom is a proud supporter of the Waratahs and the Roosters
His objectives for his 2025 team is to make every player a better person, through rugby. Making sure they can follow the rules, listen to the coaches and referees at games and trainings. And most importantly have fun with their friends. Tom would say: "We will have fun because we are going win, and winning is fun".
What he likes about Coaching: 1/ Teaching the kids to enjoy rugby as much as he does. 2/Making them better players because rugby has taken him all over the world and he would like for it to do same for the players.
His advices for a new rugby player:
- Play as many sports as you can.
- Work on your basic skills for your position. (Eg Kicking for 10s and Fullbacks, Tackling for inside and outside Centres, Pilfering for forwards)
- Everyone should work on passing
- Watch the game and get a better understanding of what every position does.
